Here is The Lumpy Pie Bakery! All the mice work very hard to make the best breads and sweets in town. You can almost smell the fresh baked apple pie!




Here is the color sample for “The Lumpy Pie Bakery”. It shows the palette of colors I used for my painting. Doing these color samples helps me pick and match colors while I paint. You might notice that all but one of the colors (sky blue) is painted over a light yellow. That is because I usually paint with a “ground” which is a light color under everything to set the mood or tone.
Here are some images that highlight my drawing method. The first image is the background drawn on layout paper. Then I drew the mice on tracing paper so I could easily see the background. Finally, I used a light box to trace the two separate images together on 140 lb. watercolor paper. Next step.. painting!
